Calling Libyan bloggers :) - NEXT WEEK ?
Do you guys want to meet next week that is first week of June ? before world cup fever ? I suggest the new flashy coffee shop in Benashur street , I'll look up the name tomorrow.

UPDATED
(This post will be shifted up regularly until all Libyan bloggers reply )

Hey this idea just crossed my mind, are you guys and ladies ready for a meet up ?
Write to me your thoughts about it, let's brainstorm ..do you vote yes or no ( and why?) . If it's a yes , what do you think is a good place and time ? Of course non libyan bloggers bloggin in Libya about their Libyan experience are welcome in addition to those visiting ;).

One thing though don't do anything until I'm back in Tripoli. I'll soon be there inshallah !

Oh and our readers can tell us what they think too.

Hi Ghazi, thank you for your enthusiasm , let's collect our thoughts here and make the meet up when we are all in the country .

Libyanwarrior, hey you're coming to Libya ? cool man maybe I get to talk to you and give you a good piece of advice lol. I should be home in 3 weeks time so if things have started rolling by then we will hold it off if you promise you are coming !

Alank, thank you for the encouragement I'll do the meme , just give me a little chance to rest I'm constantly moving from country to country here .I have started hating my jeans !

Where to meet?
Funny you should ask!
I myself had sort of come across that problem earlier... and on my last day in Tripoli I found the perfect place. One could meet in the the Green Square then take the hop across the road to the nice waterfront promenade. Walk, talk, sit by the seaside, sit at one of the cafes, many options. Even if there is plenty of people there there is also plenty of space so I think that one can talk relatively freely there.

I wish I could be there with you guys but it is just a bit tall order for my boss :)

Sounds like an interesting plan, guys. Hope you'll succeed and please don't fail to report afterwards to your non-Libyan readers how it went. Sorry I won't be there - guess I wouldn't get a Libyan visa if I was to be invited by bloggers ;).

Highlander and Lybian Warrior meeting... hahaha... really looking forward to it. Perhaps it will be another kind of a rendezvous than between Highlander and Soraya ;).

NBA, the always so loyal outsider

Very nice idea - only I get to Libya so seldom :-( and have currently no plans to do so in the nearest future. Good luck, though!

Adam, hi there :) glad to see you on the blog ...the Green Square is a good place to meet someone foreign that would not know much about Libya and the layout of the city, but it would look a bit strange if we met there I think, we will probably meet a some cafe known to all of us, there are many there in Libya ( as you know now :) ), and no not at the Corinthia Libyanwarrior I would not recommend it not for a such a large gathering of us blogger which I'm expecting we would really look odd ! Or maybe I'm just too paranoid he he he ;)

NBA if you apply for a Libyan visa with a tourist company you can make to the meeting, lol I know somebody else would love to be there as well ;)

I'm ignoring your insinuation about a rendez-vous with Libyan blogger (joke)

You know you are not an outsider anymore , you're part of this family too.

Barnita , thank you I would love if you could join us.

Safia you would be missed coz there are a lot of items I would simply love to pick your brains about !

Khadijateri & Trabilsia & A.Adam , plans are flexible so that everyone would be able to make it and I think it should be before or after the world cup ? because we would not get the guys then for sure ;)

7mada you are coming in August ? oh that would be lovely man...

Hannibal , thanks you are welcome you know :) so if you are visiting Tunis anytime soon just pop bye next door ..

Anglo Libyan , welcome to the blog and to the Libyan bloggers family .

Salaam wa Rahmatullah,

I would LOVE to have outside-the-family Libyan friends. I am sure it would help me adapt to Libyan culture at my own pace rather than have it forced on me from the moment I reach the airport... In return I can offer the beautiful Maltese culture.

My email is olelaninadelosojosverdes@hotmail.com

pls keep me informed.

Baab El Bahar Area is also one of my favourite areas for walking and strolling around - you know, facing the sea behing the upside down water-bottles construction.

In Jamaa as Saga is also a lovely park.

InshaAllah we go to Libya in September.

Next week!? Well, somebody better bring a camera! You can photoshop out the naughty bits, but you need to put up some pics if you guys have a blogger meet :)

Highlander said...

Hi Dude and welcome to the blog , you have an interesting one going as well ..I went and checked it. Yes why don't you meet up in London as well ? that should be fun.

Myriam, good you are coming this September ! Yay

Khadijateri, you better fix your schedule :) I'm going to post the date on a sepate post.

Craig :) lol man no photos allowed , but maybe for your sake we can photograph the table with the cakes and tea etc.. on it ? ;) how about that for a compromise, unless so bloggers don't mind their photos taken?
